London Design Festival 2011

Building on the successful launch at last year’s Festival, Matilda delivers 30 of the best and newest product designers and makers from Australia.

The 2011 showcase forms part of the London Design Festival’s key Design Destination, designjunction which houses 25 international brands in the impressive 2000sqm Victoria House basement, within the Clerkenwell Design District.

The first ever pop-up Matilda Café will also showcase at designjunction where you can munch on ANZAC biscuits, macadamia nuts and lamingtons while enjoying coffee, Coopers beers, and wines from Bush Telegraph. The café’s pewter bar, supplied by Verdigris London, was reclaimed from Soho House as a special commission – bringing a little bit of London to the antipodes. Henry Wilson will keep things together with a number of timber benches utilising his A-Joint system, so guests are able able to rest on Anthony Dann’s Paper Tiger cardboard stools. The products create a backdrop for the relaxed atmosphere and fresh, easygoing food the country has become renowned for.
